Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Neurology & Neurosurgery)

Contract | Nights (4x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13 or 26-week contract options available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit encompassing Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown levels within a specialized Neurology and Neurosurgery setting
• Care for a patient population that includes strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions on a 48-bed unit, including patients requiring long-term EEG monitoring
• Manage patient ratios of 1:5–1:6 on Med Surg/Telemetry and 1:3–1:4 on Stepdown; must be prepared for occasional night ratios of up to 1:7
• Administer and manage IV drips as required across all floors
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units, including a secondary campus, as directed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or a pending Nebraska RN license (candidates without license in hand will be booked six weeks out)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
• Proficiency with IV drip management required on all floors
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records charting
• Willingness and ability to float frequently to various units and campuses to meet staffing needs
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of prior travel experience for first-time travelers)
• Background in Neurology or Neurosurgical nursing care
• Familiarity with long-term EEG monitoring environments
