Warehouse Associate San Antonio, TX and Corpus Christi, TX
Sterling Personnel Inc is looking for a warehouse associate for our client in the Houston, TX and Corpus Christi, TX area.
The Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse operations by receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, and equipment, while also managing shipping and receiving tasks. This role ensures accurate inventory control, verifies incoming and outgoing shipments, and prepares orders for delivery in a timely and efficient manner.
Pay range: $19 - $21 hour
Warehouse associate Corpus Christi, TX / night shift.
T.TH- Fulltime
Night shifts: 5pm- 3am
Location: CC, TX 78411
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
(Includes but is not limited to the following; additional duties may be assigned as needed.)
- Perform multiple tasks efficiently under time constraints while maintaining safety, quality, and professionalism.
- Report to work on time and follow assigned schedules based on operational needs.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and adhere to company uniform and safety requirements.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment and maintain professional relationships with coworkers, customers, vendors, and regulatory representatives.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, DOT, USCG).
- Read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and requisitions to determine material handling needs.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against invoices and purchase orders; report discrepancies or damages.
- Store materials in designated locations based on established inventory systems.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment or customer pickup.
- Prepare shipping documentation and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of low inventory.
- Drive company vehicles for deliveries or pickups as needed (if applicable).
- Verify vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
- Process returns and maintain documentation for returned goods.
- Update pricing and inventory data in the system as needed.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding orders, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Assist with purchase requisitions and order processing.
- Maintain logs for fuel usage and other operational records.
- Participate in training programs and assist in training other warehouse staff.
- Remain available for on-call duties and respond promptly when required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-4 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or related experience preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, shipping documents, and correspondence
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication skills for interacting with coworkers, vendors, and customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic computer systems
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred (if applicable)
- Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift, push, and pull 50 lbs or more
- Operate warehouse machinery and equipment
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Use hands for data entry and handling materials
- Communicate effectively (talking and hearing)
Work Environment
- Warehouse setting with no air conditioning; exposure to varying temperatures
- Moderate noise levels (equipment, forklifts, trucks, office equipment)
- May require travel to other company locations for deliveries, pickups, or training
- Occasional cross-training or support for other departments
