Surgical Technologist

Surgical Tech Job Summary

We are looking for a capable and self-assured Surgical Tech to join our growing medical facility. In this role, you will prepare the operating rooms before surgery, ensuring all surfaces and tools are sterile and all necessary equipment is ready for the procedure. During the surgery, you will assist the surgeon and nurses as needed, then gather and process all instruments for sterilization or disposal once the procedure is finished. We prefer candidates who have at least two years of medical experience.

Surgical Tech Duties and Responsibilities

• Count sponges, rags, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures
• Ensure proper operation of equipment, such as lights and suction machines
• Assist the surgical team with scrubbing in and putting on gloves and masks
• Wash and sterilize all medical instruments and equipment following surgeries
• Clean, organize and restock the operating room after surgical procedures

Surgical Tech Requirements and Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational certificate or associate degree in surgical technology or related field preferred
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• 1 year of professional experience
• BLS certification
• Excellent active listening and communication skills
• Flexible schedule
• Pay is dependent on experience
