Job Description
This contract Industrial Painter role, running from July through September, focuses on applying protective coatings to structural steel and piping in a manufacturing environment. You will use spray equipment, sandblasting tools, and basic power tools to prepare and finish surfaces while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Operate air-assisted and conventional spray equipment to apply coatings accurately to structural steel and pipe.
- Prepare surfaces for painting using basic power tools such as drills and grinders.
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare parts prior to coating.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of coatings, solvents, and related materials.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on painting and sandblasting equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Complete additional tasks and general labor duties as assigned by supervision.
- Lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more as needed to support production activities.
- At least 1 year of labor experience in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
- Intermediate math skills to measure, calculate, and mix materials accurately.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds as required by the role.
- Comfort working at heights and operating in a manlift.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Prior painting experience is not required, but candidates with painting experience may be eligible for higher pay.
- Experience with spray guns, painting, or production environments is an asset.
- Familiarity with general labor tasks, mechanical assembly, or basic power tools such as drills and grinders is beneficial.
- Experience operating sandblasting equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail when applying coatings and preparing surfaces.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
