This role supports a busy food production plant in Orangeville, IL by operating equipment, monitoring production processes, and handling materials to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output during the night shift. You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, performing both general production tasks and, when needed, more specialized dryer, mixing, and bagging operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment and follow established procedures to support food manufacturing processes.
- Perform general production and general labor tasks, including material handling, mixing, and basic machine operation.
- Monitor production lines for quality, safety, and efficiency, and promptly report or address issues.
- Use basic math skills to complete measurements, counts, and production-related calculations accurately.
- Enter production data into computer systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and move materials and products throughout the production area.
- Stand on your feet for extended periods while performing production tasks on the plant floor.
- Apply problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills to troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and quality guidelines required in a food production environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and rotating weekend schedules.
- For dryer operator duties: train, lead, and develop team members working in your area.
- Operate the dryer and oversee associated mixing and bagging operations to ensure proper product handling.
- Fill in and provide coverage in the supervisor’s absence, helping coordinate workflow and priorities.
- Work in confined spaces during cleaning and troubleshooting activities when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.
- Experience within food production or food manufacturing preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good basic math skills for measurements, counts, and calculations.
- Ability to perform accurate computer data entry in a production environment.
- Capability to stand on feet for long periods of time on the production floor.
- Strong problem-solving and deductive reasoning abilities.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitiously as part of daily tasks.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing and production setting.
- Willingness to work rotating weekend shifts on a night schedule.
- Manufacturing or production experience in a plant environment.
- Background in food production or food manufacturing operations.
- Experience with mixing, production, and general production tasks.
- Forklift or material handling experience is beneficial.
- Ability to train, lead, and develop teams in a production setting.
- Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces during cleaning and troubleshooting.
- Flexibility to cover supervisory responsibilities when needed.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability in a shift-based environment.

Work Environment
This position is based in a food production plant in Orangeville, IL and operates on a structured shift schedule. The night shift runs from approximately 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. with rotating weekends, working three days one week and four days the following week. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment around production equipment, mixers, dryers, and bagging machinery. At times, you may need to work in confined spaces for cleaning or troubleshooting. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to food manufacturing standards, and you will use basic computer systems for data entry along with standard production tools and equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
