Job Description
Job Title: Vegetation Management Laborer - Utility Scale Solar Site
Responsibilities
- Perform vegetation management activities throughout solar arrays including weed removal, mowing, trimming, cutting, spraying, and general landscape maintenance.
- Operate string trimmers, weed eaters, push mowers, riding mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, and other vegetation management equipment safely and efficiently.
- Remove excess vegetation around solar modules, trackers, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, substations, and other project infrastructure.
- Maintain clear access roads, equipment laydown areas, drainage channels, and emergency access routes.
- Assist with erosion control measures, stormwater protection devices, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Identify and report damaged modules, tracker components, fencing, or other site defects observed during vegetation management activities.
- Support general site housekeeping efforts and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Load, unload, transport, and properly store tools, equipment, fuel, and vegetation management materials.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and toolbox talks.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Engage in general labor activities outdoors.
Essential Skills
- Experience working outdoors in a labor position.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for 8-10 hours a day
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including walking long distances, lifting, bending, kneeling, and carrying equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in solar, construction, landscaping, field labor, agriculture, or as a farm hand.
This is a Contract position based out of Paicines, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
