Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in the Denver area. This full-time position offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact within a close-knit school community. Beginning in early August and ending just before summer break at the end of May, you’ll play a key role helping young learners thrive in math or literacy.
You’ll be leading a single classroom at the elementary level (K-5), taking on the role of case manager for approximately 10 students while teaching a total of 20. With the support of 3-4 paraprofessionals, you’ll facilitate inclusive instruction and help guide your team. Your leadership will be instrumental in creating a positive and effective learning environment, ensuring that every child’s unique needs are met through collaboration and expertise.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Credentials/licenses needed to teach Special Education
- Experience in elementary education, ideally K-5
- Ability to specialize in either math or literacy preferred
- Experience leading paraprofessionals or support staff is a plus
- Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and families
- Ability to pass a district background check upon employment offer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs, serving as case manager for assigned students
- Provide specialized instruction in math or literacy, while supporting a diverse classroom
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, offering guidance and supervision
- Communicate regularly with families and multi-disciplinary teams
- Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with reliable daytime hours. Initial interviews will take place virtually with school district staff via Google Meets.
