This role supports a high-volume food production plant by operating blending equipment, assisting with mixing and batching processes, and maintaining consistent product quality. The blender operator works closely with production teams to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate operation of machinery and to keep production lines running smoothly across scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities
- Operate blending, mixing, and batching equipment in a food production environment while following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Monitor blending and production processes to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform general production and machine operation tasks, including setup, operation, and basic adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Handle materials and ingredients, including loading, measuring, and transferring product in accordance with recipes and production schedules.
- Use forklift and general labor skills, when required, to move materials, finished goods, and supplies within the facility.
- Complete accurate computer data entry to record production information, batch details, and other required documentation.
- Apply basic math skills to calculate quantities, verify measurements, and confirm accurate batching and blending.
- Identify and troubleshoot routine issues in the production process using problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills.
- Lift up to 50 lbs repetitively and stand on feet for extended periods while working on the production floor.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train, lead, and develop team members when assigned to dryer operator duties.
- Operate dryer equipment and oversee related mixing and bagging operations, ensuring efficient and accurate production.
- Provide coverage and support in the supervisor’s absence, helping coordinate production activities and team workflow.
- Work in confined spaces during cleaning and troubleshooting activities when necessary, following appropriate safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production operations.
- Experience in food production or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong basic math skills to support accurate measuring, batching, and record-keeping.
- Ability to perform computer data entry accurately and efficiently.
- Capability to stand on feet for long periods of time during production shifts.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively in a fast-paced production setting.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills for identifying and resolving production issues.
- Ability to safely operate production machinery and equipment.
- Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including AM and PM schedules with rotating weekends.
- Previous experience with mixing, blending, and batching processes in a production environment.
- Background in general production, machine operation, and general labor work.
- Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with dryer operations and bagging processes in food production.
- Experience training, leading, and developing team members.
- Comfort working in confined spaces during equipment cleaning and troubleshooting.
- Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This position is based in a food production plant with a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The role involves working on the production floor around mixing, blending, batching, and dryer equipment, as well as participating in bagging operations. Team members stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs repetitively. Shifts typically run Monday through Thursday from 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional AM and PM shifts available from 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., including rotating weekends with a schedule of three days one week and four days the next. Employees may work in confined spaces during cleaning and troubleshooting activities and use forklifts and other production machinery while following safety and sanitation standards appropriate for a food manufacturing facility.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
