Facility:
This is a flagship behavioral health service line within a large, integrated healthcare system serving as the primary teaching hospital for a well-regarded medical school in the Fairfield region. The behavioral health service line is one of the largest in Connecticut, serving over 2,500 individuals annually across multiple clinical sites including inpatient psychiatric services, ED and consult-liaison services, outpatient programs, and a dedicated geriatric and medically complex psychiatric unit.

Opportunity:
Physician - Psychiatry

Job Details:
  • Serve as Assistant Medical Director for the department and Medical Director for the geriatric psychiatry inpatient unit
  • Provide the highest quality psychiatric and substance use treatment to an elderly and medically complex patient population on a 10-bed geriatric unit
  • Lead a multidisciplinary treatment team and develop clinical leadership skills with mentorship opportunities from department and network leadership
  • Participate in patient care, resident supervision, and medical student teaching within a mature and collegial faculty environment
  • Serve as faculty for a psychiatry residency program with dedicated academic time and eligibility for academic appointment through an affiliated medical school
  • Preference for candidates who have completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship and/or have experience treating older adult and medically complex patients
  • Monday through Friday schedule with no required on-call after hours, supporting a strong work/life balance
  • Additional voluntary night/weekend moonlighting opportunities available if desired
  • Ongoing career advancement and professional development opportunities through a dedicated Provider Leadership Development Institute and Office of Provider Wellness
  • Eligibility to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist required
