Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Hardgoods Product Developer to lead and manage the end-to-end development of our physical products. Hardgoods and Consumer Electronics development is the core and primary function of this role, with additional responsibility spanning softgoods and sourcing. This role owns project timelines, product specifications, and vendor relationships, ensuring products are developed on time, at cost, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who is also comfortable coordinating cross-functional teams and driving products from concept to commercialization.

Scope 1: Project Management & Development
- Drive the product development calendar ensuring timelines are met and stagegates passed for on time delivery of high quality product
- Break down milestones into actionable tasks lead to completion
- Coordinate with factories to ensure clear communication and timely sample production
- Manage sample turns ensuring items are made to specification and comments are turned rapidly
- Monitor project progress and escalate issues or delays when necessary
- Provide regular status updates to product and cross-functional teams
- Maintain accurate product specifications and BOMs for assigned projects
- Confirm BOMs reflect correct materials, components, and manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with factories to produce costed BOMs that meet margin targets
- Review samples against specifications and provide feedback
- Update BOMs and specs when designs or materials change
- Eat unique food and slam baijiu
- Support cost analysis and contribute to go/no-go product decisions
- Research potential vendors for hardgoods, softgoods, and electronics
- Obtain and review samples to assess quality and capabilities
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, including technology, production capacity, and MOQs
- Document findings and provide recommendations to the product team
- Help onboard approved vendors into the development workflow
- Track vendor performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Relocation: Willing to relocate near Reno / Truckee / Alpine Meadows, CA and be in-office 3 days per week.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
- Multitasking: Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with ease.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 15-20% of the time.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Competent in solving technical issues that arise during the development process.
- Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience working with manufacturers and a strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, cut-and-sew, machining, and metal casting.
- Color Processes Knowledge: Understanding of dying and anodization processes.
- Project Management: Experience managing hardgoods and/or softgoods development projects.
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Base Salary: $90,000, commensurate with experience. Candidates with 8+ years of relevant experience may be considered for a higher compensation tier.
- Performance Bonus: 10–15% annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
