What You’ll Do
The Principal HRIS Analyst serves as the organization's senior subject matter expert for Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), responsible for the strategic administration, configuration, support, and continuous improvement of HR technology solutions, with Dayforce as the primary platform. This role balances expert-level, hands-on system administration, employee and HR user support, reporting and analytics, and process optimization while ensuring data integrity, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
As a part of the corporate HRIS Team, the Principal HRIS Analyst partners closely with Human Resources, HR Operations, Payroll, Benefits, IT, Finance, and business leaders globally to drive system enhancements, streamline processes, manage system upgrades and integrations, and support enterprise-wide HR technology initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong Dayforce experience, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to work comfortably at the intersection of HR operations, systems, and data. This role provides technical leadership, mentors HRIS team members and stakeholders, and serves as a trusted advisor and key resource for both Dayforce system execution and end-user support, ensuring accurate data, effective reporting, and high-quality employee experience.
Strategy & Leadership
- Serve as the lead functional and technical expert for all HR technology platforms, acting as a key advisor on capabilities, emerging trends, and best practices.
- Partner with HR leadership to develop and execute HR technology roadmaps that align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate closely with HR teams on system projects, gathering requirements, performing testing, and supporting the implementation of new features, upgrades, or functionality.
- Recommend and identify opportunities for system enhancements, process improvements, and automation to maximize efficiency, data quality, and the overall user experience.
- Lead HRIS governance efforts, including system standards, security protocols, change management, and data stewardship.
HRIS Administration & Dayforce Ownership
- Serve as a key Dayforce administration resource, providing support to Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Attendance, and Talent modules as applicable.
- Configure and maintain system workflows, business processes, eligibility rules, security roles, and user access.
- Support Dayforce releases and enhancements by testing functionality, documenting changes, and partnering with HR stakeholders on adoption.
- Troubleshoot system issues and work with Dayforce support and vendors to ensure timely resolution.
Employee & Client‑Centric Support
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee and HR user questions related to Dayforce and HR systems.
- Demonstrates a positive, team-oriented approach when working, both within HR and cross-functional.
- Provide timely, accurate, and professional support with a strong focus on excellent customer service.
- Support key HR events such as onboarding, open enrollment, and life‑event changes from a systems and user‑experience perspective.
Data Management & Analytics
- Maintain accurate, complete, and consistent employee data within Dayforce; perform regular data audits to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies while developing robust documentation for data definitions, internal controls, and HRIS processes.
- Manage and support day-to-day data imports, exports, and ongoing integration file feeds between Dayforce and external downstream systems.
- Generate standard and ad-hoc HR reports to meet ongoing operational, compliance, and leadership needs, partnering closely with HR and Finance stakeholders to transform raw data into clear, actionable business insights.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards and data visualizations utilizing Dayforce reporting tools and Power BI to track key organizational metrics, including headcount, turnover, workforce demographics, and compliance indicators.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with HR technology vendors and third-party partners.
- Evaluate vendor performance, coordinate support activities, and oversee issue resolution.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business leaders to gather requirements and prioritize system enhancements.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions regarding system capabilities, enhancements, and process improvements.
Training, Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, process maps, SOPs, and training materials.
- Mentor junior HRIS team members and provide guidance on system administration and best practices.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HRIS experience, including system administration, configuration, reporting, and project leadership.
- Demonstrated experience leading HRIS implementations, upgrades, integrations, or large-scale enhancement projects.
- Advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG, Oracle HCM, ADP, or similar systems. (Hands‑on Dayforce experience.)
- Advanced reporting and analytics experience, including dashboard development and data visualization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data analysis techniques.
- Strong understanding of HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
What We Value
