Job Description
Our client, a growing millwork manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Beam Saw Operator / Production Lead to join their team. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional with experience operating woodworking machinery who enjoys being involved in production, problem-solving, and helping a team succeed.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a woodworking, millwork, cabinet, furniture, or similar manufacturing environment and be comfortable operating machinery, maintaining quality standards, troubleshooting issues, and supporting production goals. This person will play an important role in keeping workflow moving efficiently and may have the opportunity to take on additional leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor a beam saw and other woodworking production equipment to accurately cut sheet goods and materials.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, work orders, and production specifications.
- Perform machine setup, adjustments, blade/tool changes, and basic troubleshooting.
- Verify dimensions and quality of finished materials using precision measuring tools.
- Maintain accurate production output while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Assist with training and supporting other production team members.
- Help coordinate daily production priorities and ensure work is completed on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating woodworking machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with beam saws, panel saws, CNC routers, or similar automated equipment strongly preferred.
- Background in millwork, cabinetry, furniture manufacturing, woodworking, or related production environments.
- Ability to read shop drawings, measurements, and production documents.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Experience mentoring, training, or leading coworkers preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Reliable, hardworking, and motivated to grow within a manufacturing team.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time, first shift opportunity.
- Monday–Thursday schedule, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.
- Overtime opportunities available.
- Starting pay: $23-25/hour depending on experience, with preference given to candidates with strong machine operation and leadership experience.
