JOB TITLE: A&P MECHANIC - KING AIR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

PAY: $65.00/hour

SHIFT: Days / Swings

LOCATION: Belgrade, Montana

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a short-term contract opportunity expected to last approximately 2 months, making it an excellent income opportunity for the summer.

This role focuses on line and phase maintenance of King Air aircraft operating from a home hangar and MRO facility in Belgrade, Montana. You will utilize WinAir maintenance tracking software, follow repair manuals, blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings, and perform maintenance and repairs on engines, propellers, and other aircraft systems to ensure aircraft remain safe, reliable, and mission-ready.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform line maintenance on King Air aircraft to ensure fleet airworthiness and operational readiness.
  • Complete Phase 1–4 inspections and maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance schedules.
  • Utilize WinAir maintenance tracking software to review maintenance requirements, document completed work, and maintain accurate records.
  • Interpret repair manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to execute repairs and inspections.
  • Select and use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to complete aircraft maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft discrepancies and identify root causes of mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform corrective actions and repairs to return aircraft to service.
  • Conduct heavy maintenance activities, including C-checks and other major inspections.
  • Perform maintenance on turboprop aircraft systems, engines, propellers, and components.
  • Properly complete maintenance records, logbook entries, and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, company standards, and safety procedures.
  • Utilize and maintain personal tools in a shadowed tool-control environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to support efficient aircraft turnaround and fleet availability.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of recent King Air maintenance experience.
  • Experience performing both line maintenance and phase maintenance on turboprop aircraft.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic experience on aircraft systems.
  • Experience performing heavy maintenance and detailed inspections, including C-checks.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet all safety-sensitive hiring requirements.
  • Ownership of basic aviation maintenance tools, including:
    • Wrenches
    • Screwdrivers
    • Socket sets and extensions
    • Flashlight
    • Pliers
  • Ability to maintain proper shadowed tool accountability practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience using WinAir or similar maintenance tracking software.
  • Additional turboprop experience on aircraft such as:
    • Dash-8
    • ATR-72
  • Strong attention to detail and maintenance documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work extended shifts and consecutive workdays while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work across line maintenance, heavy maintenance, and shop environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position supports King Air operations at a busy maintenance facility in Belgrade, Montana. Technicians typically work Monday through Saturday, 10–12 hours per day.

Typical schedules include:

  • Day Shift: Approximately 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Swing Shift: Approximately 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM

Work is performed both outdoors on the flight line and indoors in heavy maintenance hangars and shop facilities. Technicians regularly use WinAir maintenance software, FAA-approved maintenance documentation, and personal tooling while adhering to strict safety-sensitive work practices.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
