Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups across neurological, medical, and medical telemetry populations
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Perform and demonstrate competence in drug titration as required on the unit
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines
• Float on a rotational basis as required; night shift orients on day shift and candidate must be available the entire orientation week

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NIHSS certification — submissions may be accepted without it, but certification must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Black scrubs required; no other scrub colors are acceptable

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient neurology experience
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Experience with telemetry monitoring equipment, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps
• Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced neurological unit
