Overview
Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Phlebotomist, where your skills in blood collection and patient care will play a vital role in patient diagnostics. This position offers the opportunity to work in a clinical setting, performing vital specimen collection duties while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established practices and procedures.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation to maintain specimen integrity.
Verify patient demographic information and ensure accurate labeling of samples in the presence of patients.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing activities.
Create a trusting environment by explaining procedures to patients and demonstrating professionalism and confidence during blood collection.
Ensure a safe and professional environment while adhering to all safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies.
Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume setting.
Support process excellence and demonstrate leadership behaviors, promoting a positive image to patients, clients, and staff.
Travel to various patient service and in-office collection sites as needed, including weekends, holidays, and overtime shifts.
Required Skills
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate openly and transparently with patients and team members.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in keyboard/data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume clinical environment.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred, with specific requirements in California, Nevada, and Washington.
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred.
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
