Job Description
The Forklift Operator safely and efficiently manages material handling activities within a busy warehouse or production facility. This role operates powered industrial trucks to load and unload delivery vehicles, move inventory to designated storage areas, and stage products for shipping or manufacturing. Success in this position requires strong spatial awareness, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a consistent commitment to workplace safety and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial trucks, including sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, in a safe and controlled manner.
- Maneuver material handling equipment through tight facility aisles while maintaining awareness of surroundings and adhering to safety protocols.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound freight from tractor-trailers, shipping containers, and delivery trucks with care and precision.
- Center, stack, and secure items or pallets to prevent shifting, tipping, or product damage during movement and transport.
- Transport raw materials to manufacturing workstations and return finished products to designated storage bays.
- Use Radio Frequency (RF) scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to accurately track inventory movement and location.
- Cross-check incoming and outgoing product counts against pick tickets, manifests, and bills of lading to verify accuracy.
- Pull, pick, wrap, and label pallet loads to prepare orders safely and correctly for transport and shipping.
- Assist with routine cycle counts and stock reconciliation to support inventory accuracy and audit requirements.
- Follow all facility safety guidelines, material handling procedures, and equipment operation standards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Strong spatial awareness and excellent hand-eye coordination for maneuvering equipment in tight spaces.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety practices and a firm commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Experience loading and unloading freight from various types of delivery vehicles.
- Ability to stack, center, and secure palletized loads to prevent damage or instability.
- Proficiency using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory movement.
- Attention to detail when verifying product counts against pick tickets, manifests, and bills of lading.
- Capability to perform order fulfillment tasks, including pulling, picking, wrapping, and labeling pallets.
- Reliability in supporting routine cycle counts and stock reconciliation activities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow established procedures consistently.
- Prior experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with material handling best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Comfort working around heavy equipment and moving vehicles in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with warehouse and production teams.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to facility-specific processes and systems.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
