Job Title: Cleanroom Technician / Industrial Sewer-Fabricator
Job Description
This role combines hands-on industrial sewing and fabrication with precise documentation and cleanroom production for aerospace, cryogenic, and defense applications. You will work with multilayer insulation (MLI) materials, follow detailed shop prints, and support high-quality, ISO-driven manufacturing processes in a clean, temperature-controlled facility. Extensive training is provided for cleanroom procedures and sewing techniques for candidates with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Sew heavy canvas and other materials using industrial sewing machines and related equipment.
- Read and interpret shop prints, blueprints, and work instructions to cut and fabricate materials to the correct size and specification.
- Measure and cut materials accurately using a ruler and other basic measuring tools.
- Work in a cleanroom environment following gowning procedures, including wearing a bonnet, smock, booties, veil, beard guard (if applicable), and cleanroom gloves.
- Perform detailed documentation of work performed in accordance with ISO and AS9100 requirements.
- Follow and maintain high standards of quality inspection, including visual checks and measurements, to ensure products meet specifications.
- Assemble and handle components in a manner consistent with cleanroom, medical device, or GMP-style environments, as applicable.
- Operate sewing machines, industrial sewing machines, or knitting machines safely and efficiently after training.
- Support inspection and assembly tasks that require a high level of documentation accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with cleanroom and facility standards.
- Collaborate with team members and trainers, asking questions and communicating clearly in English to ensure proper understanding of procedures.
- Lift and move materials or components up to 25 lbs as needed during daily production activities.
Essential Skills
- At least 3+ months of sewing experience (commercial, industrial, or personal) or a minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to pass reading, English, and math assessments.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in inspection, assembly, or other work requiring a high level of documentation.
- Ability to read and use a ruler accurately for measurements.
- Capability to lift up to 25 lbs safely during regular work activities.
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints or shop prints (6 months to 1 year of experience preferred).
- Strong English communication skills to understand instructions and training effectively.
- Reliable work history and willingness to work hard in a production environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to following documentation and quality procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Cleanroom experience and familiarity with gowning procedures are a significant plus.
- Experience with quality inspection processes in manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or similar regulated environments.
- Experience in documentation and inspection within ISO, AS9100, GMP, or similar quality systems.
- Hands-on experience with sewing machines, industrial sewing machines, or knitting machines.
- Experience in medical assembly, medical device manufacturing, or cleanroom personnel roles is beneficial.
- GED or high school diploma is preferred but not required.
- Comfort working with detailed ISO documentation and strict quality standards.
- Ability to learn new fabrication and sewing techniques through on-the-job training.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean, organized, and temperature-controlled facility with dedicated cleanroom areas. You will work in either a first shift (Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) or a second shift (Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.) within an aerospace-focused cleanroom setting. The environment emphasizes precision, documentation, and quality, with processes aligned to ISO9001 and AS9100 standards. In cleanroom areas, you will follow strict gowning protocols, including wearing a bonnet, smock, booties, veil, beard guard as needed, and cleanroom gloves. In other production areas, you will typically wear gloves, a hair net, and a smock. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
