Job Title: Travel Safety Coordinator
Job Description

The Travel Safety Coordinator plays a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment on construction projects. This position focuses on onsite safety oversight, incident investigation, and delivery of project-specific safety training, while ensuring compliance with construction safety regulations and the Project Safety Management Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate safety incidents and near misses, document findings, and clearly communicate results and recommendations to project stakeholders.
  • Deliver and support safety training related to aerial lifts, lockout/tagout (LOTO), fall protection, and other project-specific safety requirements.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings as required by the project.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and field engagements with workers to reinforce project safety expectations, requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Perform and document daily safety inspections of work activities using Construct PM, capturing both conforming and non-conforming observations.
  • Identify hazards and safety concerns in collaboration with the construction team and ensure timely correction and follow-up.
  • Support implementation of the Project Safety Management Plan (PSMP) and monitor ongoing compliance with its requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation in accordance with project and regulatory standards.
  • Engage with field personnel to promote a strong safety culture and encourage proactive reporting of hazards and near misses.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of five years of construction experience, including at least one year performing onsite construction safety responsibilities.
  • Specialized safety training relevant to the project scope, such as lifts, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and fall protection.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction safety regulations and hazard control methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct safety training and effectively engage with field personnel.
  • Experience with electrical safety in a construction environment.
  • Ability to perform detailed safety inspections and accurately document observations.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with workers, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using digital tools such as Construct PM or similar platforms for documenting inspections and safety observations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with construction teams to resolve safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage safety meetings, training schedules, and documentation.
  • Capability to promote a positive safety culture and encourage continuous improvement in safety performance.
Work Environment

This role is based in an active construction environment and requires regular presence onsite. The Travel Safety Coordinator works closely with field personnel, supervisors, and project teams to monitor work activities and ensure safe practices. The position involves daily site walks, inspections, and participation in safety meetings, often in varying weather conditions and around heavy equipment and construction operations. Digital tools such as Construct PM are used to document inspections and safety observations. Appropriate safety attire and personal protective equipment are required in accordance with site policies and regulatory standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
