Job Description
MAU is hiring a Maintenance Manager for our client in Portage, WI. As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead the plant maintenance department to ensure production equipment operates reliably, maintenance strategies support business objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives drive plant performance. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required Education and Experience
\n- \n
- Four-year engineering degree. \n
- Experience in maintenance and reliability engineering. \n
- 5+ years of related experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. \n
- Previous supervisory experience. \n
- 3–5 years of people management experience. \n
Preferred Education and Experience
\n- \n
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies, including ultrasound, vibration monitoring, and thermal imaging. \n
- Experience using data historians. \n
- CAD experience. \n
- Ability to read, understand, and modify PLC ladder logic. \n

Essential Functions

- Minimize plant equipment downtime to meet production demands. \n
- Utilize the CMMS system to effectively plan preventive maintenance activities. \n
- Identify and eliminate plant safety issues requiring engineering controls. \n
- Lead the plant maintenance team to improve the performance of capital assets. \n
- Manage the performance and professional development of maintenance personnel. \n
- Lead Kaizen activities and promote a continuous improvement culture. \n
- Encourage employee skill development and professional growth opportunities. \n
- Hire, mentor, train engineers, and support staff. \n
- Collaborate with business development and process design teams to develop engineering solutions for new products. \n
- Develop cost-effective engineering designs that meet project objectives while following EHS principles. \n
- Ensure maintenance personnel follow SOPs, safety protocols, and conduct daily pre-work safety tailgate meetings. \n
- Develop and improve site maintenance strategies, including support for new equipment installations. \n
- Coordinate contractor activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. \n
- Assess and implement engineering controls to eliminate identified plant safety risks. \n
- Ensure plant drawings, layouts, P&IDs, and related documentation remain current. \n
- Communicate project timelines and spending profiles with internal customers. \n
- Develop and improve maintenance policies and procedures. \n
- Ensure maintenance personnel complete all required training. \n
- Optimize spare parts management, asset classification, and maintenance strategies. \n
- Maintain equipment maintenance records. \n
- Provide repair cost estimates and project timelines. \n
- Identify risks, opportunities, and develop countermeasures. \n
- Maintain engineering and maintenance documentation for accuracy. \n
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor by routinely walking assigned areas, communicating with associates, identifying at-risk behaviors and hazardous conditions, and taking immediate corrective action. \n
- Understand and support Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) and RC-14001 certification requirements. \n
- Support Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Responsible Care policies and procedures. \n
- Help reduce environmental impacts associated with work activities. \n
- Understand the consequences of deviations from operating procedures. \n
- Report accidents and releases according to company escalation procedures. \n
- Comply with all environmental, health, safety, security, and Responsible Care requirements. \n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, security, and Responsible Care programs. \n
