American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Hospice/Palliative Care position in a home health setting, requiring at least 1 year of home health or hospice experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Home health/hospice setting serving the Midcoast Maine region
- Adult patient population including med/surg, oncology, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, wound care, GI, and GU diagnoses
- Case management of 14–18 patients based on acuity, with an expectation of 5–6 visits or units per day and a minimum productivity of 25 units per week
- Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- On-call rotation is shared among all staff nurses, estimated at approximately once per week and one weekend per month; weekday on-call runs 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM, and weekend on-call runs Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 8:00 AM
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- No float requirements within the unit; however, a 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply as needed
- Active RN license — Maine (ME) or Compact license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of home health or hospice experience required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Must be able to independently case manage and self-schedule patient visits
- Valid Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Preferred skills include PICC line management/dressing changes, trach care, port access, ostomy care, chest tube and Pleurex drain management, suprapubic catheter care, and lab draws (UA/C&S)
- In-home infusion pump use is part of the role; no ventilators or invasive monitoring involved
- Clinician will be provided with an agency laptop, iPhone, nursing supply bin, vital signs equipment bag, and agency bag — all equipment must be returned at the end of the assignment
- Business casual attire or scrubs of any color are acceptable; jeans, open-toed shoes, and clothing with holes are not permitted
- Personal use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones while on duty is prohibited
- Candidates who reside within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and are subject to a different bill rate; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this position
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at the time of consideration
