American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an OB/L&D position at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and active BLS and NRP certifications.

- LDRP-style position in an acute care hospital OB unit, with labor and postpartum areas operating as separate but related units \n
- Unit includes 8 L&D beds, 1 OR suite for C-sections, 1 triage bed, and 12 postpartum beds \n
- Delivers care to approximately 100–120 births per month (1,300–1,400 per year) \n
- Patient population includes pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, postpartum hemorrhage, newborn respiratory distress, and general pregnancy cases \n
- RNs care for labor patients, postpartum patients, couplets, and stable newborns — RNs do not circulate in the OR or recover patients after general anesthesia \n
- Titration of drips required; common drips include oxytocin, insulin, and magnesium \n
- Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines \n
- Charge nurses may or may not take an assignment; travelers are not assigned charge duties \n
- Nurse aides and surgical techs are available on the unit \n
- Anesthesia is in-house 24/7; OB/Neonatologist is not in-house 24/7 \n
- CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators are on-site and used primarily for newborns by separate dedicated staff \n
- GE monitors used; telemetry strips are read by tele techs on another unit \n
- Fetal monitoring via Fetalink EFM system \n
- Charting in Cerner (transitioning to Epic) \n
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM \n
- Self-scheduling; every 3rd Friday, Saturday, and Sunday required \n
- No on-call or standby requirement \n
- Potential to float to other units as a sitter, in the same rotation as staff nurses \n

- Active WI RN license or compact RN license (must be active by start date) \n
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and NRP \n
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in OB/L&D \n
- Comfortable with neonatal resuscitation and NRP protocols \n
- Experience caring for labor patients, postpartum patients, couplets, and stable newborns \n
- 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience \n

- Orientation consists of 3 days total: 1 day of online training, 1 day on the labor unit, and 1 day in postpartum \n
- Scrubs are provided by the facility \n
- Candidates who previously worked at this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their start date \n
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a reduced travel pay rate \n
- The facility is transitioning from Cerner to Epic \n
