Direct Support Professional

• Assist in providing supported services based on an individual support plans and desired activities in promoting community life.
• Assist with planning, organizing and participating in activities provided to individuals in the home and community.
• Provide transportation within the community utilizing personal vehicle.
• Meet the needs, desires and activities of the individual we support.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, families, and others who are essential for the well-being of the individual's we support.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations appropriately.
• The work environment for this position varies and is a community-based locations providing support to the individuals and their family in their home and in the community.
• Knowledge of health measures such as basic first aid, CPR, fire safety and personal safety measures.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver's license with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
• At least 18 years of age
• Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
• Successfully completion of required training as mandated by regulation.
• Successfully completed preemployment process including motor vehicle record and criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school Diploma
