Custodian - Delivery Driver

The Fergus Falls Public School District is seeking applicants for a full-time delivery driver position.  This year-round position is under our custodian contract and works closely with food service.  The position generally works 5:30 am - 2 pm during the school year and 6 am - 2:30 pm during the summer months (subject to change).

This position has a benefit package that includes health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, 403b contribution, pension plan, along with sick and vacation leave. The 2025-26 wage range is from $20.89-21.57/hour. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Excellent human relations skills including communicating with the staff and public.
3. Incumbent must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
4. Technical skills: Utilization of power equipment such as forklift, tractors, snow throwers, mowers, and power tools.
5. Valid driver's license in good standing.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The tasks listed below are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.

1. Deliver and transport all food as required. Assist with unloading, receiving, and proper storage of food service freight.
2. Pick up and/or deliver supplies or freight for the district.
3. Transport financial deposits to the bank.
4. Transport mail to post office.
5. Perform regular preventive maintenance on delivery truck including fuel, oil, tire pressure, wipers and fluids ensuring appropriate levels/ replacement.
6. Maintain carts and rolling racks including cleaning and lubrication.
7. Assist with custodial and cleaning duties as assigned including but not limited to cardboard removal, floor drains, and pest prevention/removal and summer cleaning.
8. Assist with special projects for food service and other departments as assigned.
9. Participate in in-service training programs and keep up-to-date with the "Employee Right to Know" program.
