Armed Security Officer- PA Act 235 required- Solo

Position Summary

OPS Security Group is seeking a professional and customer-focused Armed Security Officer to provide security services at a county courthouse. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for court staff and visitors.

This position is best suited for someone who is comfortable working independently while remaining in regular communication with management and county personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed security at an assigned courthouse location.
• Monitor entrances and maintain a secure environment.
• Greet and assist visitors in a professional manner.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies as needed.
• Complete daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Follow post orders, court procedures, and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with court staff, law enforcement, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania Act 235 Certification (Required)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Armed security, military, law enforcement, or corrections experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements

• Pennsylvania Act 235 Verification
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check (PATCH)
• FBI Background Check (when applicable)
• Pre-employment Drug Screening

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to respond to emergencies
• Lift up to 50 lbs when necessary
