Description
Ateeco, Inc. is seeking a dependable, safety-minded CDL Class B Driver to join our team. In this position, you will operate commercial vehicles (GVWR 26,001+ lbs., automatic or manual transmission) to safely transport and shuttle frozen products between our facility and our storage location in Hazleton, PA. When you are not driving, you will load and unload trucks, stage production materials, and utilize warehouse management software.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Driving & Transport
- Safe Fleet Operation: Safely operate Class B vehicles to deliver frozen products to customer sites and execute scheduled shuttles to the Hazleton storage facility.
- Backup Shuttle Support: Provide seamless backup coverage for the primary Shuttle Driver as required or directed by management.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct standard pre- and post-trip inspections (fluid levels, tires, lights, brakes). Perform basic emergency roadside repairs (replacing fuses, light bulbs, or installing tire chains) and promptly report larger mechanical issues to the Warehouse Manager.
- Compliance & Logs: Maintain accurate vehicle logs, cargo records, and bills of lading in strict compliance with DOT and company regulations.
Warehouse & Inventory Logistics
- Load Management: Efficiently load and unload trucks; verify physical inventory counts against shipping papers and manifestos.
- Material Staging: Organize and stage packaging, raw ingredients, and other production supplies to keep the plant schedule moving smoothly.
- Equipment Operation: Complete daily safety checklists and skillfully operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and other commercial warehouse tools.
- Digital Tracking: Use barcode scanners, computers, and basic SAP functions to log raw material usage and inventory tracking data accurately.
- Quality & Safety: Follow all company policies regarding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), workplace safety, product quality, and sanitation. Coordinate the safe transport and tracking of "hold" and "rework" items.

Requirements
Education & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B required.
- Driving Record: Clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
Core Skills
- Technical Savvy: Basic computer literacy, including navigation, data entry, and familiarity with (or ability to learn) SAP software.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills with a proven ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor with external customers and internal teammates alike.
- Problem Solving: Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude to handle minor equipment issues or roadside adjustments.

Physical Abilities
- Lifting: Constantly required to lift up to 50 lbs. during material staging and loading/unloading; occasionally lifting between 51 and 100+ lbs.
- Mobility: Constantly standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequently sitting (driving), bending, and reaching outward or above the shoulder.
- Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel tools, steering components, and data scanners.
Environment & Context
- Temperature Variations: Regular exposure to controlled indoor environments, closed commercial vehicles, and occasional exposure to extreme cold (freezers/storage facilities below 32°F) or seasonal heat (above 90°F).
- Vibration & Noise: Exposure to whole-body vibration from commercial trucks and distracting/uncomfortable industrial noise levels.
- Safety Gear: Requires the regular use of standard personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
