Dhaka Technologies Limited is
seeking an entry-level Flex Tech Field Technician & Logistical Support professional to support telecommunications infrastructure operations for one of
its clients.
This role is ideal for candidates
with hands-on trade service experience, including backgrounds such as
electrical helper, mechanical helper, alarm technician, handyman, automotive
technician, telecommunications helper, or similar field-based service roles.
The selected candidate will
support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, logistics, inventory,
documentation, and field dispatch activities across multiple facilities. This
position combines physical fieldwork, basic technical support, customer service,
and logistical coordination.
Installation and Maintenance
- Install, upgrade, and remove telecommunications
equipment and supporting cabling at various facilities.
- Assist network and technical teams with equipment
installation, cabling, fixture placement, and site support.
- Install and remove cabinets, racks, ladder racks, and
other infrastructure fixtures as needed.
- Support wireless access point installation,
troubleshooting, and upgrades in coordination with technical teams.
- Decommission, transport, and organize equipment
removed from customer sites.
- Safely use basic hand tools and power tools,
including screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, hammer drills, and saws.
Technical Support and
Troubleshooting
- Help identify and troubleshoot issues related to
phone, wireless, network, cabling, electrical, mechanical, alarm, or
similar systems.
- Perform basic testing and support for fiber and
copper cabling.
- Use or learn to use tools such as multimeters,
current clamps, network cable testers, network cable toners, optical power
meters, and OTDR equipment.
- Assist with outages, cutovers, network changes, and
field support activities.
- Learn and apply basic LAN infrastructure, cabling
standards, wireless access point support, and telecommunications best
practices.
Logistical and Inventory
Support
- Coordinate delivery, distribution, pickup, and
movement of equipment, tools, parts, and materials.
- Support field dispatch operations and technician
deployment activities.
- Track inventory levels and help ensure required
materials are available for field assignments.
- Assist with receiving, shipping, warehouse support,
and inventory control.
- Organize work schedules, transportation, and site
logistics to support efficient operations.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Rotate between multiple internal service teams based
on operational needs.
- Support teams involved in fiber maintenance, data
center facilities, voice operations, field operations, warehouse support,
and related telecommunications functions.
- Adapt to daily and weekly assignment changes.
- Collaborate in a matrixed team environment and work
effectively across multiple groups.
Customer Service and
Communication
- Communicate professionally with customers, internal
teams, and external stakeholders.
- Respond to customer requests, phone calls, emails,
and other communications throughout the workday.
- Return missed calls during the workday within one
hour.
- Maintain professionalism, positive customer
relationships, and a service-focused attitude.
- Demonstrate patience and courtesy when working with
anxious or frustrated customers.
Documentation and Reporting
- Capture work notes, photos, test results, site
updates, and issue summaries.
- Email summaries of completed work, field issues, or
required follow-up actions.
- Maintain project documentation, including test
results, as-built documentation, and field notes.
- Use and update ticketing systems for assigned jobs.
- Read and understand technical instructions, drawings,
and blueprints.
- Create, edit, and manage documents using tools such
as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar platforms.
- Create, edit, and analyze spreadsheets using tools
such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar platforms.
- Use, update, and share files through cloud storage
systems such as SharePoint, OneDrive, or similar platforms.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow established safety protocols and industry
standards.
- Use required personal protective equipment.
- Work safely on ladders, in confined spaces, around
traffic, and in active jobsite environments with proper training.
- Operate power tools and field equipment responsibly
and safely.
- Learn and follow applicable industry standards,
including ANSI, TIA/EIA, National Electric Code, and related cabling
standards.
Requirements
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of trade service experience, such as
electrical helper, mechanical helper, alarm technician, handyman,
telecommunications support, automotive technician, or similar hands-on
field service role.
- Minimum 2 years of experience diagnosing and solving
problems with telecom, electrical, mechanical, alarm, automotive, or
similar systems.
- Minimum 2 years of experience reading and
understanding technical instructions, drawings, or blueprints.
- Minimum 2 years of experience using, updating, and
sharing files on cloud storage systems such as SharePoint, OneDrive, or
similar platforms.
- Minimum 1 year of experience using and updating
ticketing systems.
- Minimum 1 year of experience creating, editing, or
analyzing spreadsheets.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 125 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and remain on feet for most
of the shift.
- Ability to work on feet for 6–8 hours per day.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for 1–8 hours per
day when traveling to job sites.
- Ability to work in confined spaces with proper
training.
- Ability and willingness to learn forklift operation
with training.
- Ability to use basic hand tools such as screwdrivers,
pliers, wrenches, and similar tools.
- Ability to safely operate power tools such as hammer
drills and saws.
- Ability to respond professionally to customers,
internal teams, phone calls, emails, and field communications.
- Ability to follow instructions, maintain
documentation, and complete assigned tasks safely and accurately.
- Experience using multimeters, current clamps, network
cable testers, network cable toners, optical power meters, OTDR equipment,
or similar measurement tools.
- Experience with telecommunications, cabling, fiber,
copper, wireless access points, LAN infrastructure, or network field
support.
- Experience supporting warehouse, logistics, field
dispatch, shipping, receiving, or inventory operations.
- Familiarity with ANSI, TIA/EIA, National Electric
Code, OSHA, IEEE, BICSI, or related technical and safety standards.
- Interest in pursuing certifications such as CompTIA
A+, BICSI, or similar technical credentials.
- Shifts are 8 hours and may be scheduled between 6:00
AM and 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Assignments may vary daily and weekly based on
operational needs.
- Occasional schedule adjustments may be required to
support maintenance windows outside the regular shift.
- Ability to support emergency repairs during and
outside regularly scheduled work hours may be required.
- Travel to job sites throughout the Washington, DC
metropolitan area is required.

dependable, hands-on field technician with trade service experience, strong
customer service skills, and a willingness to learn telecommunications
infrastructure support. This individual should be comfortable performing
physical work, using tools, traveling to job sites, documenting work,
