Under general supervision, is responsible for promoting the programs, services and events provided by the City of San Antonio by performing professional level marketing using a full range of incentive tools and programs as well as marketing and promotional techniques. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises no supervision.

Work Schedule
9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Tuesday - Saturday
- Promotes, coordinates and markets programs, services and events provided by the City of San Antonio.
- Researches, analyzes and monitors promotional strategies and marketing trends.
- Serves as liaison between city departments and external customers by fostering a positive, professional image.
- Develops and implements public relations, advertising, promotional and social media strategies in collaboration with other City departments.
- Conducts presentations, tours and public education programs and evaluates effectiveness of programs.
- Prepares and maintains performance and statistical reports.
- Develops and delivers presentations to City Manager's office, boards, committees, etc.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, event facilitation, education, or hospitality
- Experience leading or presenting to groups of 10+ people, including diverse audiences (youth, corporate teams, community groups)
- Experience in roles requiring high daily interaction with the public
- Experience in animal welfare, nonprofit, community outreach, or public service environments
- Familiarity with open-admission shelters or high-volume, fast-paced settings
- Experience communicating about sensitive or complex community issues
- Comfortable working in outdoor settings, varying weather conditions, and active shelter environments
Applicant Information
- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
