Slinging Operator

Client near Selma, CA is seeking to fill Production Operator positions. Full time, $18/hour,12 hour shifts. Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull product for long periods of time.

Slinging Operator Duties

Job Objective

• The primary goal is to set up and move lite (sheet of glass) bundles to designated locations according to the production schedule, with the assistance of a co-worker.

Area Preparation and Setup

• Move throughout the production area by walking on concrete surfaces.

• Review the shift product schedule at a computer workstation, which involves handling paperwork and operating communication equipment.

• Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections, review task checklists, and discuss product quality with co-workers.

• Manipulate paperwork, machine controls, computers, and phones during setup.

Moving Lite Bundles (2-Person Job)

• Set up racks by moving pins weighing up to 45 lbs. to access bundles.

• Position and adjust straps on bundles and crane arms, occasionally lifting straps weighing 5-10 lbs..

• Carry slinging materials weighing between 10-57 lbs. to the worksite.

• Reach to secure strapping from the bottom to the top of lite bundles and onto the crane arm.

• Operate an overhead crane using a remote control while monitoring the movement of the crane, strapping, and bundles.

• Remove and apply packing materials such as plastic wrap, foam corners, gap fillers, and straps.

• Offload glass sheets by moving rack I gates (45 lbs.) into position with a co-worker's assistance.

• Stage foam materials by carrying regular to jumbo bundles weighing 30-57 lbs. to designated locations.

Housekeeping Duties

• Sweep, wipe, and brush work surfaces clean throughout the shift using brooms, mops, dustpans, and scoop shovels.

• Crouch to sweep and remove debris from underneath conveyors.

• Remove debris and glass weighing 1-10 lbs. from the floor and machine surfaces.

• Position debris carts by pushing or pulling them to designated locations.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $18.00
