Location: Plano & Frisco, TX (On-site)
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (On-call rotation approx. every 5 weeks)
Compensation: $28.00 - $30.00 / hour (Depending on experience)
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of sophisticated commercial building systems. This role requires a strong technical background in commercial HVAC and automated systems, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to creating a positive, welcoming impression for our tenants.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Maintenance: Perform emergency and preventive maintenance on complex commercial systems, including Building Automation Systems (BAS), condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC units, variable air volume (VAV) systems, emergency generation equipment, and transfer switches.
General Repair & Upkeep: Diagnose and repair electrical, control, plumbing, and life safety systems. Perform general building upkeep duties as needed (including chemical treatment, and periodic pressure washing or leaf blowing).
Work Order Management: Utilize a personal computer and smartphone to manage, complete, and track work orders and email communications via our digital maintenance tracking system.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough maintenance and repair records.
Tenant Relations: Take full ownership of your assigned buildings, maintaining a flexible attitude and a professional demeanor to ensure a welcoming environment for medical staff and visitors.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in commercial facilities maintenance or building engineering.
Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of BAS, electrical controls, commercial HVAC (VAV/RTUs), plumbing, and life safety compliance.
Blueprints: Ability to confidently read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
Tech Savvy: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; comfortable using a smartphone and PC for daily work orders and communication.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance tasks.
Travel & Availability: Must be able to travel between buildings within the Plano and Frisco metropolitan areas. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation approximately every five weeks is required.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be a self-sufficient problem solver who also excels in a team environment.
