The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. These systems might include, but are not limited to, processing intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, business management information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Open Source Software (OSS) and/or Commercial OffThe-Shelf (COTS) Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components. Experience developing in Unix. Ability to perform shell scripting. Working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) tools and Web Services implementation.
The Software Engineer shall be responsible for the engineering, implementation, integration, and sustainment of the Delinea Tools Suite in a Linux environment. This role ensures secure credential management, privileged access controls, secrets management, and automation capabilities that align with mission security and compliance requirements. The Software Engineer shall serve as the SME for all Delinea technologies running on Linux systems and shall collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Pay Range: $ - $ per hour*
Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. *Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.

Required Technical Skills
- Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Suite of Tools
- Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
- Recent software development experience using Python and Java
- Strong background in Linux administration such as RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu
- Hands-on experience implementing or supporting at least one Delinea product (e.g., Secret Server, Privilege Manager, DevOps Secrets Vault)
- Experience integrating Delinea with directory services (LDAP, Active Directory, FreeIPA).
- Understanding of identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), certificate-based authentication, and security best practices
- Experience troubleshooting system-level issues in distributed environments, including logs, services, networking, and authentication
- Familiarity with API-based integrations, RESTful services, and secrets automation in CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as Ansible and SaltStack
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and associated secret‑handling patterns
- Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
Desired Technical Skills
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience supporting enterprise security tools or working in a cybersecurity-focused software engineering role
