THE POSITION
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is excited to welcome a passionate Registered Nurse Supervisor who wants to shape the future of resident care at the South Mountain Restoration Center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides daily guidance and oversight to nursing staff to ensure consistent, high quality care for residents. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Clinical Leadership: Plan, implement, and evaluate resident care across multiple care areas
  • Team Guidance: Support nursing staff through mentoring, communication, and daily oversight
  • Coordination Efforts: Collaborate with administrators, supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams to maintain continuity of care
  • Record Management: Maintain records, review documentation, and prepare required reports
  • Staff Development: Provide training, encourage participation, and promote ongoing learning activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM). You will be scheduled rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
