Custodian - Now Hiring

Our client Maintenance Custodian to join their team. The ideal candidate will have Attention to Detail, dependability, adaptability and flexibility which will align successfully in the organization.

 Job Title: Custodian

Location: Manistee, MI

Pay Range: $14.99- $15.44 an hour 

What’s the Job?

• Empties wastebaskets, coffee grounds and other debris.  Cleans baskets and changes liners as necessary.  Removes trash and empties paper recycling boxes.
• Vacuums offices and halls.  Operates steam cleaner on carpets in halls and offices.  Mops offices and areas without carpeting.  Buffs, strips and waxes floors.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, baseboards, file cabinets, window ledges, mirrors and other fixtures.
• Cleans and disinfects sinks, stools and other fixtures.  Cleans and polishes drinking fountains and mirrors.
• Stocks restrooms with towels, tissue and soap.  Delivers paper and supplies to office areas as needed.
• Changes light bulbs.  May do minor repairs such as replacing screws, oiling hinges and related tasks.
• Paints and cleans walls in offices, hallways, and restrooms
• Performs other duties as required.

What’s Needed?

• High School Diploma or equivalent and one year experience as a janitor or custodian.
• Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of cleaning and sanitizing a variety of buildings and facilities.
• Knowledge of various cleaning products and their uses and operating a variety of custodial equipment.
• Ability to learn simple database entry and use if needed.
• Ability to assess situations, solve problems, work within deadlines, and in emergency situations.
