Position Summary

A leading surgical center in White Plains is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will provide both clinical and administrative support to physicians and nursing staff while ensuring exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment with a collaborative and patient-focused team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and other clinical information.
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff during examinations and minor procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain exam and procedure rooms, ensuring equipment and supplies are stocked and sterilized.
  • Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection as needed.
  • Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and assist with patient check-in/check-out.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a surgical, orthopedic, or outpatient setting.
  • Experience with EMR systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is a plus.
