We are currently seeking resumes from qualified, responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Survey Party Chiefs for our Phoenix, Arizona office. Job Description:

This role will perform surveys of all types including precise control networks, topographic mapping, aerial targeting, boundary retracement, and ALTA Surveys. Primarily in the field, performing boundary and topographic surveys. Lead/Perform surveys in day-to-day operations, and report back to the Survey Group Leader on daily activities.


Duties:

  • Lead/Perform field surveys, including boundary and topographic,
  • Operate and oversee the use of survey instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and digital levels
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of all survey data collected in the field
  • Perform complex field calculations and verify measurements
  • Maintain detailed and accurate field notes, sketches, and digital records
  • Interpret construction drawings and engineering plans
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate junior staff
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and care of survey equipment
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Troubleshoot field issues and adjust survey methods in consultation with Survey Group Leader


Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Minimum Education: High school or equivalent. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of land surveying field experience is preferred.
  • The ability to perform survey calculations in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of survey methods, principles, and procedures
  • Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, GPS/GNSS, data collectors)
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to carry a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Ability to work out-of-town (on occasion assume 5-10% travel, mostly in-state).
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier.

Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. Working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
