  • Financial Statements: Prepare and present comprehensive consolidated financial statements, variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts to executive leadership.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with facility administrators and department heads to develop, implement, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Industry-Specific Reimbursement & Compliance
  • Payer Sources: Manage complex revenue cycles involving Medicare, Idaho Medicaid (state-specific guidelines), managed care, and private pay structures.
  • Cost Reporting: Direct the preparation and submission of annual Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and statutory financial filings.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain rigorous compliance with GAAP, state of Idaho Department of Health and Welfare regulations, and federal healthcare mandates.
  • Audit Management: Act as the primary liaison for external financial audits, state cost report audits, and tax preparations.
  • Strategic Leadership
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate, implement, and upgrade accounting systems and internal controls to scale with organizational growth.
  • Team Development: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate corporate accounting staff and facility-level business office managers.
  • KPI Tracking: Monitor industry-specific metrics including occupancy rates, Per Patient Day (PPD) labor metrics, and aging AR accounts.

Qualifications

  • Required Experience & Education
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive financial management experience specifically within senior living, assisted living, skilled nursing (SNF), or extended care environments.
  • Accounting Experience: 7+ years of total corporate accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role (Assistant Controller or Controller level).

Preferred Skills

  • Licensure: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation highly preferred.
  • Software: Proficiency with industry-specific ERP software (e.g., MatrixCare, PointClickCare, Yardi, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
