- Hiring process may take approximately 2–4 weeks from offer to start date.
- Contract extension opportunities may be available based on staffing needs and performance.
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Patient Services Representatives to support Radiology Services. This role serves as a critical point of contact for patients, providers, and clinical teams by coordinating radiology scheduling, patient registration, financial clearance verification, and customer service functions.
The ideal candidate will have prior healthcare experience, strong scheduling and administrative skills, and hands-on experience using EPIC.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and reschedule outpatient and inpatient radiology procedures using EPIC.
- Coordinate appointments for:
- MRI
- CT
- Ultrasound
- Fluoroscopy
- Nuclear Medicine
- Generate radiology orders using electronic order entry systems.
- Verify patient information and facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Review financial clearance requirements and insurance eligibility prior to scheduling procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and departmental billing information.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, preparation instructions, registration requirements, insurance coverage, and billing procedures.
- Answer, screen, and triage incoming calls while providing exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate communication with physicians, referral offices, radiologists, and clinical departments.
- Arrange interpreter services and patient transportation when required.
- Utilize Accu-Reg and EPIC systems to ensure accurate patient registration and billing information.
- Assist patients with completing required forms and pre-procedure documentation.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties including mail processing, filing, and supply management.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Adhere to Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting OR three years of office, administrative, or community services experience.
- Hands-on EPIC experience is required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, data entry, and medical office workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in radiology scheduling.
- Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, or financial clearance processes.
- Familiarity with hospital or outpatient clinic operations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
