Murrey's Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Fife, WA.
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. Compensation
Diesel Mechanic Pay: $37.00 - $41.00 per hour DOE
CDL Premium: Additional $1.00 per hour for CDL holders
Swing Shift Differential: Additional $1.50 per hour
Tool Allowance: $125.00 per month
Schedule & Overtime
Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Overtime: Average 8-10 hours per week, paid in accordance with applicable law

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, suspension systems, air brake systems, and related components.
Utilize diagnostic software and tools including Cummins Insite, Davie4, and Allison DOC.
Complete DOT inspections and safety inspections in compliance with company standards.
Review and repair items identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
Perform welding, fabrication, and metal repair work as needed.
Test drive vehicles when required to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
Accurately document repairs, labor hours, and parts usage within fleet maintenance systems.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and maintenance team members.
Follow all company safety policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Truck Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic, or Equipment Technician.
Three or more years of experience preferred for higher-level mechanic positions.
Valid driver's license required.
CDL preferred or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.
Ability to provide and maintain personal mechanic tools required for the position.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and workplace safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull more than 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Work performed in both indoor shop and outdoor environments.
Exposure to weather conditions, noise, dust, grease, fumes, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.
Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
