Quality Control Inspector

Location: Mead, CO
Schedule: Full-Time Weekend Shift
Hours: Friday - Sunday | 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour, depending on experience, technical knowledge, inspection capabilities, and CMM proficiency

Position Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support quality operations within a precision machining environment. This position is responsible for performing inspections throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with CMM operation, precision measurement equipment, blueprint reading, and quality documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined components.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Program, operate, and run Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection data, measurement results, and quality documentation.
  • Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and related quality records as required.
  • Review material certifications, outside processing certifications, and supporting documentation for compliance.
  • Identify and document nonconforming product and communicate findings to production and management teams.
  • Support corrective action activities and quality investigations.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated prior to use.
  • Work closely with machinists, setup personnel, programmers, and leadership to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred.
  • Experience inspecting precision machined components required.
  • Experience operating CMM equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Strong understanding of inspection methods, quality standards, and precision measurement techniques.
  • Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Experience with AS9102 documentation is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
