We are seeking a reliable, experienced Shop Mechanic/Shop Manager to join our construction team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and small tools while overseeing the daily operations of the shop. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and small engines.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel issues.
  • Schedule and prioritize repairs to keep equipment job-site ready.
  • Manage shop inventory, including parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with field crews and management regarding equipment needs and repair timelines.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Ensure equipment inspections and preventative maintenance are completed on schedule.
  • Assist with equipment transportation and other shop-related duties as needed.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience repairing construction equipment, heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or similar machinery.
  • Leadership or shop management experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, skid steers, or other heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required).
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.What We Offer
