Job Description
Our client, a highly respected civil litigation firm, is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate to join its growing team in the Greater Seattle or Tacoma area. This hybrid, full-time opportunity is ideal for an attorney with at least five years of civil litigation and/or insurance defense experience who is passionate about trial advocacy and handling complex litigation matters.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced trial attorneys and gain hands-on involvement in all phases of litigation, including client counseling, discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, and trial preparation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for long-term professional growth in a collaborative and supportive environment.
ResponsibilitiesManage a diverse civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
Represent clients in matters involving insurance defense, medical malpractice, general liability, employment, commercial litigation, personal injury, and wrongful death claims.
Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, discovery, and other litigation documents.
Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies.
Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and the courts.
Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure exceptional client service and successful case outcomes.
Maintain organized case files and effectively manage multiple deadlines.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active Washington Bar license and member in good standing.
Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably including insurance defense.
Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and trial strategy.
Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research platforms, and litigation technology.
Exceptional organizational, project management, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Strong communication and client service skills.
Reliable attendance and the ability to work in a hybrid office environment.
