MIG Welder - $24-25/hr
*First Shift (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Job Description
This role focuses on MIG welding and metal fabrication, working primarily with structural steel and aluminum to produce parts and assemblies that meet customer specifications. You will interpret structural steel blueprints, perform precise measurements, and fabricate components while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on structural steel and aluminum components to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Read and interpret structural steel blueprints to determine dimensions, materials, and fabrication requirements.
- Use a tape measure accurately to lay out, mark, and verify dimensions for cutting, fitting, and welding operations.
- Fabricate steel and aluminum into various shapes and assemblies according to detailed drawings and instructions.
- Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently, using only company-supplied weld equipment.
- Inspect welds and fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Organize workstations, tools, and materials to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments to coordinate work, clarify specifications, and resolve issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout all tasks.
- Work a 50-hour work week on first shift, including some overtime as needed to meet production and customer deadlines.
- Operate company vehicles as needed, using a valid driver’s license and adhering to all safety and driving policies.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years of MIG welding experience.
- Proficiency in MIG welding on structural steel and aluminum components.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints.
- Strong tape measure reading and measurement skills.
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication, including cutting, fitting, and assembling steel and aluminum.
- Good organization skills to manage tasks, tools, and materials efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and using required PPE.
- Ability to work a 50-hour work week on a first-shift schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a non-climate-controlled industrial or fabrication environment.
- Familiarity with production environments that require overtime to meet demand.
- Comfort using a variety of welding and fabrication tools and equipment supplied by the employer.

Work Environment
The role is based in a non-climate-controlled fabrication facility where you will work primarily on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for a 50-hour work week with some overtime as needed. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times, and all welding equipment is provided by the employer, except for steel-toe footwear, which you must supply. The environment is hands-on, production-focused, and safety-conscious, with regular use of MIG welding machines, fabrication tools, and measuring equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
