The Truss Builder works in a modern indoor truss plant, assembling floor and wall trusses using basic hand and power tools. This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks with accuracy, and contributing to the production of high-quality structural components in a brand-new facility.
Responsibilities
- Assemble floor and wall trusses according to production specifications and drawings.
- Use basic hand tools such as hammers and tape measures to measure, cut, and secure materials.
- Operate basic power tools safely and efficiently as needed in the assembly process.
- Read and interpret tape measurements accurately to ensure precise cuts and placements.
- Maintain a steady work pace while performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Stand and walk on the production floor for up to 10 hours a day while performing assembly duties.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Inspect materials and completed trusses for quality and report any defects or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
- Assist with general housekeeping of the work area, including organizing tools and materials.
- Experience in carpentry or construction is required.
- Wall framing experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, including hammers and tape measures.
- Ability to operate basic power tools safely.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Capability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.
- Comfort with repetitive, hands-on production tasks.
- Commitment to following safety procedures in a production environment.
- Previous experience working in a truss plant or similar manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with general construction practices and building components is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and assembly.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.

Work Environment
This role is based in a brand-new indoor truss plant facility in Brandon, SD. The environment is a production floor setting where you will work around construction materials, hand tools, and power tools. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (mandatory), with additional hours available on Fridays and Saturdays on a voluntary basis. The work involves being on your feet for long periods, frequent walking, and performing repetitive manual tasks in a structured, safety-focused environment. Attire should be appropriate for a construction and manufacturing setting, with suitable work clothing and footwear that support safety and comfort throughout the shift.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
