Job Title: MIG Welder/Fabricator
1st shift - $25/HR
Job Description
This role focuses on MIG welding thinner galvanized sheet metal in a high-volume production environment. You will use your welding skills to produce quality welds on galvanized steel components, contributing to a clean, well-equipped fabrication operation with opportunities to grow and advance your skill set.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on galvanized sheet metal, primarily on thinner material than typical structural work.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints to understand weld locations, dimensions, and specifications.
- Set up and operate welding equipment and fabrication tools safely and efficiently in a production welding environment.
- Inspect welds for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Work with ventilation systems and flexible exhaust vents to ensure safe welding conditions with galvanized steel.
- Maintain a clean and organized welding booth and surrounding work area.
- Collaborate with fabrication team members and rotate through different skill sets as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to welding, sheet metal handling, and shop equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Welding experience gained in a high school program, technical school, or agricultural/farm setting.
- Exposure to different fabrication processes and willingness to learn new welding and fabrication skills.
- Interest in rotating through various welding and fabrication stations to develop broader expertise.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large fabrication building with ample room to grow and move between different workstations. The shop is fairly clean and equipped with quality fabrication and welding equipment, including dedicated welding booths. Each welding booth features a flexible air exhaust vent that can be positioned directly over the weld bay to provide effective ventilation when working with galvanized steel. The environment supports rotating through various skill sets and areas, allowing you to gain experience across different welding and fabrication tasks while working in a structured production setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr.
