This role combines inventory coordination and shipping operations in a clean, well-organized printing facility. You will manage inventory using ERP systems, operate reach truck forklifts and dock equipment, and handle shipping and receiving tasks while working with MS Office and shipping software. The position is hands-on, involving material handling, pallet wrapping and strapping, and frequent computer use to maintain accurate records and support efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inventory control activities, including cycle counts and general inventory management to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Operate reach truck forklifts and pallet jacks (manual and power) to move materials and palletized loads safely throughout the warehouse.
- Manually lift rolls and materials up to 60 pounds several times per day and use hoist assistance when appropriate to handle heavier items safely.
- Wrap and strap pallets using mechanical (semi-automatic) stretch wrappers, as well as steel and plastic strapping tools, to prepare loads for shipment.
- Work on the dock receiving and delivering freight to the warehouse, including inspection of incoming materials for accuracy and quality.
- Enter Bills of Lading and freight costs into the MRP/ERP system (preferably Epicor) to maintain accurate shipping and cost records.
- Use shipping software (such as UPS and FedEx systems) to process outgoing shipments, create labels, and track deliveries.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation in MS Office applications, including Word and Outlook, to support inventory and shipping activities.
- Collaborate with team members in the printing environment to support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work both standing and sitting as needed throughout the shift, adapting to different tasks while maintaining productivity and safety.
- Apply strong attention to detail, particularly in a printing industry setting, to ensure correct materials, quantities, and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating warehouse equipment and handling materials.
- Experience as an inventory clerk, inventory coordinator, or in a similar warehouse role with responsibility for inventory control and shipping.
- 1+ years of reach truck forklift experience, including safe operation in a warehouse or dock environment.
- Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, and inventory management processes.
- 3+ years of computer software experience in shipping systems (such as UPS and FedEx) and inventory/ERP systems (preferably Epicor).
- Proficiency with ERP or MRP systems for entering Bills of Lading, freight costs, and inventory transactions.
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Word and Outlook, with the ability to use computer systems as a core part of daily work.
- Hands-on experience with pallet wrapping and material handling in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds multiple times per day, with proper use of hoist assistance when needed.
- Comfort working both standing and sitting for extended periods during a standard warehouse shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Experience in a printing industry environment with a strong eye for detail.
- Familiarity with dock equipment, including manual and power pallet jacks.
- Experience operating a mechanical (semi-automatic) stretch wrapper for palletized loads.
- Knowledge of steel and plastic strapping tools and best practices for securing freight.
- Interest in lean manufacturing principles and willingness to contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Strong organizational skills and accuracy in handling documentation and inventory data.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with warehouse, production, and shipping teams.

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing predictable daytime hours. You will work with warehouse and dock equipment, including reach truck forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanical stretch wrappers, and strapping tools, as well as ERP/MRP systems, shipping platforms (UPS/FedEx), and MS Office.
