Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac ICU RN for a float pool hospital position in Rochester, MN, requiring at least 2 years of CICU experience and proficiency with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support devices.

  • Cardiac ICU (CICU) setting within a large hospital float pool, with floating required as needed

  • Specializes in critically ill adult patients with altered cardiac function and hemodynamic instability
  • \n
  • Required procedures and equipment: pulmonary artery catheter, IABP, Impella, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
  • \n
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • \n
  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts
  • \n
  • Day/night rotation: 0700–1930 and 1900–0730
  • \n
  • Every third weekend required
  • \n
  • Floating to other units required as needed
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active MN RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
  • \n
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or American Red Cross)
  • \n
  • CCRN preferred
  • \n
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE); if not accredited, at least 1 year of RN experience in an applicable care setting within the last 5 years is required
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU RN experience required
  • \n
  • Minimum 1 year of RN travel experience required
  • \n
  • Proficiency with IABP, Impella, pulmonary artery catheters, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
  • \n
  • Must pass an ECG exam administered during orientation to continue the assignment
  • \n
  • COVID vaccination and booster required for eligibility
  • \n
  • Date of birth required for consideration
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Responsible for coordinating all phases of nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and care transitions
  • \n
  • Delegates patient care based on skill level, acuity, and available resources
  • \n
  • Provides informal leadership through preceptor roles, mentoring, teaching, and participation in quality improvement efforts
  • \n
  • On-site position — no remote or telework options
  • \n
  • Up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment may be subject to cancellation due to low census
  • \n
  • Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a break of 30–60 days is required before returning to a new assignment
