Role Overview:
\nThe role involves providing patient-centered care within the Cancer Center, focusing on outpatient chemotherapy and related services. Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, care planning, symptom management, and coordination of outpatient services.
\nQualifications:
\n- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
- One to two years of experience in ambulatory oncology required.
- Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certificate required.
- Oncology Nurse certification (OCN) required after two years or 2,000 hours of oncology nursing practice.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
Skills and Abilities:
\n- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to practice independently and collaboratively.
- Competency in basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills with patients, peers, and physicians.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Work Environment:
\nThis position aligns with ANA and ONS standards, working under established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. The role collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to cancer patients and their caregivers.
