About this job
Job Description
Great products start with great suppliers — and that's where you come in. As our Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll be the driving force behind how MPE manages, audits, and improves the quality of everything that comes through our supply chain. You'll work cross-functionally with purchasing, fabrication, powder coating, and assembly teams, giving you visibility and influence across the entire production process, not just one narrow slice of it.
This role is a strong fit for someone with a few years of hands-on quality engineering experience who's ready to lead investigations, own supplier relationships, and drive real improvement projects — not just document problems, but solve them.
What You'll DoSupplier Audits & Performance
- Execute supplier audits — both QMS and process audits — in compliance with ISO 13485 and quality system requirements
- Create and manage supplier quality scorecards
- Assist in maintaining supplier qualification status and ongoing performance data
Nonconformance & Corrective Action
- Lead supplier nonconformance investigations and corrective actions (SCAR/CAPA), including verifying effectiveness and driving timely closure
- Support purchasing, fabrication, powder coating, and assembly teams in dispositioning internally rejected parts and products
Incoming Quality & Inspection
- Implement and maintain receiving inspection plans based on risk and change control processes
- Execute incoming receiving inspection on purchased materials
- Execute first article inspections and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) on supplied parts and materials
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct internal audits per MPE's internal audit schedule
- Manage and assess supplier change notifications for impact to MPE products
- Partner directly with suppliers on quality improvement projects
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality or relevant field or High School Diploma and 5+ years relevant experience in Quality
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
- Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, height gauges, CMMs, Romer Arms, Microview devices, etc.)
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with sheet metal/fabrication, powder coating, and/or assembly processes
- Experience working directly with suppliers and customers
- Six Sigma and ISO quality management system experience
- FDA experience
