Structural Metal Fabricator/Welder (MIG, TIG, Stick)

A day in the life in McAlester, OK

Picture your shift starting with a quick huddle in our collaborative shop. You review drawings, confirm weld symbols, and plan your sequence. You stage materials, dial in your MIG, TIG, or stick machine, and make clean, consistent passes. Mid-morning, you verify fit-up, check tolerances, and complete a quality inspection. After lunch, you and a teammate troubleshoot a fixture issue, refine your approach, and finish the assembly to spec. Throughout the day, you follow safety protocols and carve out time for skill-building with our training resources.

Core responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld metal components and assemblies to specification.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols to plan work.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and stick processes.
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with standards.
• Keep the work area organized and safe while following all safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve fabrication and fit-up challenges.
• Participate in ongoing training to expand and refine welding skills.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational welding training is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience welding in a fabrication environment.
• Solid command of welding techniques and best-practice safety.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and detailed blueprints.
• Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
• Comfort working independently and within a team setting.
• Welding certification preferred, not required.
