About the Position

AlliedTravelCareers is working with Towne U.S. LLC to find a qualified Physical Therapist (PT) in Petoskey, Michigan, 49770!

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Travel Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) for a contract assignment at a healthcare facility. The DOR is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the rehabilitation department while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with operational management to support patients, staff, and facility goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department
  • Supervise, mentor, and support rehabilitation staff, including therapists and therapy assistants
  • Ensure high-quality patient care through effective clinical oversight and program management
  • Monitor productivity, staffing, scheduling, and departmental performance
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, payer, and facility regulations
  • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of therapy staff
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Monitor patient outcomes and support the achievement of rehabilitation goals
  • Maintain accurate reports, department metrics, and operational records
  • Provide direct patient care as needed, based on facility requirements

Requirements

  • Required: Active professional license as a PT, PTA, OT, COTA, or SLP, as accepted by the facility and state regulations
  • Required: Graduate of an accredited program in the applicable rehabilitation discipline
  • Preferred: Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a rehabilitation setting
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation practices, regulatory compliance, and documentation standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Willingness to travel for contract assignments
