Description

Our growing ophthalmology practice is seeking a part-time Ophthalmic Tester to support our clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care at our Chicago location. This role is responsible for assisting with patient examinations and ensuring the accurate and thorough documentation of visit details.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and patient-focused, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct various eye tests like Visual Field exams, ERG, VEP, Fundus Photos, OCT, and more, ensuring they’re accurate.
  • Explain tests to patients, answer questions, and ensure they are comfortable.
  • Record test results and attach them to patient charts.
  • Identify and correct any inconsistencies or mistakes in patient records.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmic technicians, doctors, and others to ensure tests are completed smoothly.
  • Ensure testing equipment is working properly and report any issues.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed during the day, such as supporting ophthalmic technicians.
  • Follow up with patients regarding test results or future appointments.
  • Occasionally travel to other clinic locations to perform tests or assist with care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong diction skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Exceptional customer service and excellent phone skills are mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Adaptable, highly motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills required.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, medical law, and HIPAA compliance preferred.


Salary Description
$17.00-$19.00/hr.
